WORK PACKAGES

1: Identifying learning and teaching styles within the UCC. Lead by UCC.

 

Objective 1: Identify the teaching and learning styles of lecturers/researchers and engineering students of the UCC.

Deliverables 1: 1.1 Report of the learning and teaching styles. These styles are relatively stable, but can be transformed, serving as a tool for lecturers/teachers in order to understand how their students learn and in this way modify or reinforce their own teaching style, which will have an effect on improving the learning process of student and therefore in greater academic success.

 

2: Transforming the voice of SDGs challenges faced by La Paz Wayuu indigenous community and learning/teaching styles of the UCC community into requirements for engineering skills/curricula. Lead by UCC and Aquatera.

 

Objective 2: Identify the key requirements for group design project (GDP) course, for the UCC engineering programmes, based on La Paz Wayuu indigenous community SDGs challenges found in the previous RAENG funded projects, and learning/teaching styles information obtained in WP1.

Deliverables 2: 2.1 Matrix of Requirements for the GDP course.

 

 3: Modifying the UCC engineering programmes curricula towards SGDs-challenges based learning. Lead by UCC.

 

Objective 3: 3.1 Define the GDP course curriculum specifications for tackling the SGDs challenges of a vulnerable community and its design. 3.2 Define the best learning/teaching strategies for enhancing the
community-SDGs-challenge solving engineering skills.

Deliverables 3: 3.1 Specification report. 3.2 Strategies report. 3.3. Curriculum for the GDP course.

 

4: Developing group design projects (GDP) based on La Paz community-SDGs challenges.
Lead by UCC and facilitated by all partners.

 

Objective 4: 4.1 Develop solutions for the SDGs challenges faced by a vulnerable community (case study:
Wayuu community La Paz) located nearby the Caribbean coast in Colombia.

Deliverables 4: 4.1 Student performance review report 4.2, Conceptual/preliminary and detailed design report. 4.3, Student final year research projects.

 

 

5: Dissemination and legacy. Lead by UCC and facilitated by all partners.

Objective 5: 5.1 Develop the UCC engineering students skills for technical/engineering, communication, leadership, interdisciplinary teamwork and interpersonal. 5.2 Strengthen links between industry,
communities, government and academia.

Deliverables 5: 5.1 Preliminary and critical design review reports and minutes. 5.2 Public engagement report. 5.3 Collaboration & cooperation agreement.
